As an inexpensive alternative to quartz and mica waveplates, plastic retarders are available in large size. The sheets are offered with mounts. 550nm retarders are from stock. Retarders of other sizes and wavelenghts (400, 480, 1040, 1160 and 1600nm for quarter-waveplates, 520, 580 and 800nm for half-waveplates) are regarded as special orders .
