GCL-0711 Wollaston Prisms
The Wollaston Prism is commonly used as a polarizing beamsplitter. The deviations of the two transmitted beams are nearly symmetric about the incident beam direction. The polarization planes of the beams are parallel and perpendicular to the plane where the entrance and exit beams lie. The beam splitting angle slowly varies with the wavelength, therefore the data in the table below is approximate.
Wavelength Range: 220nm to 2500nm
Transmission: > 85%, lambda=632.8nm
Optical Damage Threshold: CW: 50W/cm², Pulse: 100W/cm²
Extinction Ratio: >1x10^5
Wavefront Distortion: lambda / 8
Beamsplitting Angle: 5°, 10° or 15°
