These filters are designed for blocking UV and IR radiation, particularly from the spectrum of welding arc which causes damages to the LCD of a helmet viewing window and the welder´s eyes. It also allows tranmission in visible range to improve welder´s viewing to hir working environment, which a traditional welding window darkens his sight. Optically coated with advanced techniques, the filter has its main application in auto-darkening welding helmets and shows excellent performance, comparing with the traditional absorbing materials.
